A: My husband and I both live in San Jose, California but often adventure around and past the Bay Area. We would absolutely love to travel - just let me know! You can also check out our travel schedule for no additional travel fees.
Q: What is your pricing?
A: Check out the investmentsection for more information! For wedding packages, send an inquiry and I'll usually get back to you within 24 hours.
Q: How many photos will I receive?
A: I typically deliver 50-75 photos per hour of photography.
Q: HOW LONG OF A SESSION DO YOU SUGGEST I BOOK?
A: For engagement sessions, I suggest booking a full 2 hour shoot as that gives us time to get comfortable, hike along a trail, and really get to adventure and capture your love story. I know that sometimes it can feel awkward going into it, but I'm here to really help you relax and just be yourselves - I promise that by the end of the session we'll be laughing and running around capturing not just beautiful photos, but memories as well! For family portrait sessions, I suggest a minimum of 1 hour to really make sure we get photos of everyone's best angle! For senior graduation sessions, I suggest 1/2 hour if you're looking to just get a few shots to commemorate the occasion, but 1 hour if you want to shoot with friends and/or get multiple locations on campus.
Q: I ONLY NEED 3-5 IMAGES, DO YOU OFFER SMALLER PACKAGES?
A: I offer local mini sessions in the Santa Clara County for special occasions (ex. graduation, holiday, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc.). With that said, even for a 30 minute mini session, I consistently deliver a generous number of photos because I really believe in professionally editing and delivering all the wonderful photos we take at our session, rather than keeping them locked up in a hard drive where no one gets to appreciate them! However, I do highly suggest booking at least the recommended minimum, as the longer time frame isn't really just about getting more images, but rather telling a story through the way that we interact and adventure together. The very best photos I find are often at the end of the session!
Q: HOW MANY LOCATIONS CAN WE SHOOT IN?
A: Typically for a 1 hour session, we would stay in one location. For 2-3 hour sessions, we can definitely travel to multiple locations (depending on how far apart they are).
Q: When will I receive my photos?
A: For short 1-2 hour sessions, I typically deliver your photos within 3 days, with a guarantee maximum of 2 weeks. For weddings, I deliver all your photos within a guarantee maximum of 1 month. I always get excited to edit and deliver photos though, so oftentimes you'll see a lovely email in your inbox with a link to your gallery within that same day!
Q: What are my rights to the photos?
A: You can freely share and print your photos - I just ask that you credit Lynn Lewis Photography when you do - a link or tag to the website, Instagram, or Facebook will do!
Q: DO YOU PROVIDE PARTIAL DAY COVERAGE?
A: Yes! I am happy to work with you to create a custom package that fits your needs.
q: What if i/my fiance/etc. am NOT REALLY COMFORTABLE IN FRONT OF A CAMERA?
A: "Whisper in her ear... ...your favorite fruit." My role as a photographer is not just to take the shot, but also to direct and guide you to feel comfortable and natural as if I'm not even there. I'm here to help relax those stiff poses and those awkward half-smiles - with a bit of prompting and movement, you'll forget you're even being photographed!
Q: What equipment do you use?
A: I carry with me a Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 6D, Sigma 35mm f/1.4, Sigma 85mm f/1.4, Yongnuo 565EX II speedlite flash, and Tiffen neutral density filter (plus lots of extra batteries and SD cards!).
Q: WHAT IS THE BOOKING PROCESS?
A: Booking is as easy as setting the date and location with a retainer fee and signed contract to reserve your date. If any changes come up, I am happy to work with you to adjust as needed!
Q: WHAT IS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE?
A: I lean more towards photojournalism photography, focused on capturing those authentic, raw emotions. I started as a landscape photographer, so I can't resist those grand landscapes - but I also love capturing the amazing way that two people in love move, interact, and just be with each other. With a background in design, I love being creative with light, perspectives, and composition.
Q: What should I wear for an engagement session?
A: First rule of thumb - be COMFORTABLE! You want to feel confident and be able to move freely during the shoot. Want to wear these new beautiful high heels you just bought? Do it! Just bring a pair of sandals with you. Maxi dresses are always beautiful to shoot as the wind can often create an ethereal movement as you walk. If you're more of a casual person, jeans and a loose tee work just as well. Complement the styles between you and your significant other - for example, if you're going for a boho look, think floral crown, hair down, lace textures, bowtie, suspenders, colored pants. You don't need to match down to a T, but rather complement each other. Feel free to send ideas to me if you're stuck!
Q: How many outfits should I prepare?
A: For a 1 hour session, typically 1 outfit is all we have time for. For a longer session, feel free to bring 2-3 outfit changes. I would suggest having both casual and formal outfits when choosing multiple outfits so that you get different photos.
